Wit and wisdom for wordsmiths

About me

JGogolinBWC 232x300 About meI’m Jean Gogolin.  I write for and coach experts in science, medicine and information technology who want to make their specialties compelling to ordinary mortals.

I specialize in telling their stories in a human voice: clearly, directly and compellingly, no matter how complex the subject.

I’ve had a varied career, with all the pieces contributing to what I do now.

I started as a newspaper and magazine editor and then became a corporate communicator for a series of high tech companies –  Lotus Development, Northrup Grumman, IBM and EMC Corporation.

For 15 years I was an executive speechwriter and annual report writer/producer, traveling to places like Luxembourg, Sao Paolo, Tokyo, Paris, and Taipei and Singapore . . . .  And yes, it was as much fun as it sounds.

One EMC Corp. annual report I wrote and produced won the Triple Crown of AR awards: the AR100, Potlatch, and Mead Paper Awards.

I’ve had bylined articles in The Boston Globe and USA Today and ghostwritten op/ed pieces for The Los Angeles Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Now I help people like you.  See what one client, a new blogger, had to say about me.

Then Email me and let’s talk.

“Jean was recommended to me by a trusted friend, and hiring her as a writing coach was the best thing I’ve done in years. I highly recommend Jean to anyone on a writing adventure!”
